#We are seeking a Psych Attendant to support the safety, security, and daily care of patients in a secure behavioral health environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in mental health, behavioral health, patient care, residential care, corrections, or secure-care settings who are comfortable working with individuals who may have complex behavioral needs. You will work closely with nursing and behavioral health professionals to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment while helping patients participate in daily activities and treatment programs. Key Responsibilities Provide on-ward safety and security monitoring for patients in a secure mental health environment. Observe and document patient behavior and identify unusual, threatening, or escalating behaviors . Escort patients to appointments, meals, recreational activities, work assignments, and other approved off-ward activities. Assist nursing staff during behavioral health crises , including interventions to help prevent injury to patients or staff. Monitor patients in designated areas, including during seclusion or other safety interventions , according to established procedures. Conduct searches of patient rooms, clothing, and living areas for contraband, dangerous objects, or unusual conditions . Help maintain a secure environment and follow procedures designed to prevent unauthorized patient departure . Provide direct support with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, bathing, feeding, clothing care, and room maintenance . Encourage patients to develop and maintain independent living skills . Assist with meals, laundry, recreational activities, and therapeutic programs. Assist nursing staff with patient care and treatments as directed by an RN or LPN . Participate in one-on-one interactions with patients to discuss concerns, needs, and daily activities. Help maintain clean, sanitary, and organized patient living areas . Complete accurate documentation, including progress notes, daily ward logs, incident reports, restraint/seclusion documentation, patient movement reports, and communication logs . Attend required in-service training, staff meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings . Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including fires, behavioral emergencies, or other unit emergencies . Ability to remain calm and professional when working with individuals experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges . Strong observation and communication skills. Ability to recognize potentially unsafe situations and take appropriate action. Comfortable providing hands-on patient support and daily living assistance . Ability to follow detailed safety, security, and patient-care procedures . Ability to accurately complete written documentation and reports. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team . Must be able to respond to emergencies and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. #HC010

Up to $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
