Mental Health Tech Red River Youth Academy - 2.5 Norman, OK Job Details Full-time $12 - $15 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Individual crisis management Psychoeducational group therapy facilitation In-person customer service High school diploma or GED Emotional support for patients Healthcare privacy protection Group education sessions for patient education Adolescents Patient interaction Working with youth Group therapy instruction Full Job Description Shifts available: 2p-10p 10P-6A Duties include: providing supervision and security of clients ensuring the quality of the environmental management system providing a consistent and positive role model for the young men entrusted to our care No experience necessary. Training provided. Must be at least 21 years old. Must pass an extensive background check and drug test. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum Qualifications :
Education:
High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree in Human Services preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of working with psychiatric or emotionally disturbed youth is preferred; CNA and/or personal care attendant or rehab services may substitute for experience.

Other:
Must possess high levels of initiative and be able to initiate and perform work requirements with minimal direction. Ability to maintain information as highly confidential; excellent customer service skills; familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred; skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization; basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful; skills in prioritizing and in managing time; problem-solving skills; use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients; empathy towards patients; experience with patients is highly desired; skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living helpful. Ability to conduct educational and treatment groups and to accurately document same; must be able to function in a crisis situation without over-reacting; must have ability to control emotions at all times and display sound mental and emotional demeanor at all times; ability to write and communicate adequately.
HIPAA:
Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients. Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situation such as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner; must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic; ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions. Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly . Individual must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to life, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe patients on the unit and in therapeutic activities.
Pay:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
