How you'll contribute A Behavioral Health Technician who excels in this role: Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration. Reviews staffing needs daily, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports. Supervises Patient Sitters. Reviews staffing levels to actively resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements. In timely manner, informs appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur. Determines, coordinates and supervises staffing assignments for patient sitters. Provides recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications. Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate. Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments. Maintains assigned calendar(s). Maintains files and office equipment. Orders and stocks supplies. Additional duties as assigned and needed. What we're looking for Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
