In this vital role, you will provide compassionate patient care, monitor psychiatric patients, and assist in creating a safe and supportive environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a collaborative behavioral health setting. Duties Observe and monitor psychiatric patients continuously, ensuring safety and well-being at all times Assist with behavior management strategies to de-escalate crisis situations using proven techniques such as de-escalation and physical restraint when necessary Support patients with daily activities, including hygiene, nutrition, and medication administration under supervision Document patient observations, behavioral incidents, and treatment progress accurately in medical records Implement crisis intervention protocols promptly to prevent escalation of behavioral or emotional distress Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and follow individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs Maintain a safe environment by adhering to hospital policies, including physical restraint techniques and first aid/CPR procedures Skills Prior acute care experience in mental health or psychiatric hospital settings is highly desirable Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities or substance use disorders Strong knowledge of behavior management, behavior intervention, and crisis prevention techniques Familiarity with psychiatric care practices, patient observation, and mental health terminology Ability to perform patient monitoring effectively while maintaining compassionate client communication Experience working within behavioral health hospitals or corrections facility medical clinics is a plus Excellent skills in de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, and physical restraint methods to ensure safety for all involved This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in psychiatric patient care while supporting recovery journeys. Pay:
$26.42 - $31.82 per hour Expected hours: 28.0 per week
