In this vital role, you will provide direct milieu support and personal care to adult women experiencing acute mental health crises, helping maintain a safe, therapeutic, trauma-informed environment. You will work under the direct shift oversight of the on-duty Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This is not a nursing role — the BHT does not administer medications or perform nursing assessments. Duties Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive milieu throughout the assigned shift. Monitor resident well-being and report changes in behavior, mood, or physical status to the on-duty LPN immediately. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility as needed. Facilitate structured activities, group programming, and skill-building as directed by the clinical team. Support de-escalation and implementation of individual Safety Plans under the direction of the LPN and Clinical Supervisor. Conduct scheduled safety checks and document resident location and status at required intervals. Complete shift notes, safety-check logs, and incident documentation in the EHR within required timeframes, in compliance with HIPAA. Assist with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and general facility upkeep. Participate in shift handoff and communicate resident status to oncoming staff. Skills Experience in behavioral health, residential care, psychiatric technician, or direct-care settings supporting adults preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care and crisis de-escalation techniques. Strong communication skills for effective resident interaction and teamwork within a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA. Ability to remain awake and alert during overnight shifts. First Aid and CPR certification (required within 30 days of hire). Clear criminal background, sex offender registry, and CPS registry checks; TB screening per facility health policy.
