Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Male Behavioral Health Technician to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral care team. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support and supervision to individuals with diverse behavioral health needs, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, substance use disorders, and mental health conditions such as PTSD. Duties Supervise and support clients with behavioral health challenges, ensuring safety and engagement during daily activities. Implement behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to promote positive behaviors. Assist with intake assessments, documenting client needs, progress, and responses using electronic health records (EHR). Monitor vital signs and administer medication as prescribed in accordance with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Utilize crisis management and de-escalation techniques to effectively respond to challenging behaviors or emergency situations. Collect data on client behaviors, progress, and treatment outcomes to inform ongoing care plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical staff, and special education professionals to coordinate comprehensive care. Skills Experience working with individuals with substance use and behavioral health in a residential settings. Knowledge of mental health conditions such as PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and substance use disorders. Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and behavior intervention techniques. Proficiency in medical documentation, medical records management, and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, first aid, CPR, and crisis intervention effectively. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care. Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays in special education or social work contexts. Skilled in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention to ensure safety for clients and staff. Capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team dedicated to mental health and behavioral support.
