In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to women across all stages of life, from routine screenings and family planning to labor, delivery, and postpartum support. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive compassionate, evidence-based care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered services while adhering to all regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on women's health and well-being through proactive care and education. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews, with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology (Ob/Gyn). Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and injection administration with precision and care. Manage labor & delivery processes, including monitoring fetal heart rates, managing pain control, and assisting during childbirth in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Provide family planning counseling, contraceptive management, and perform routine gynecological screenings utilizing ultrasound (sonography) when necessary. Document medical records accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Develop individualized care plans for patients with acute or chronic conditions, including care coordination for discharge planning and follow-up. Monitor patient progress through medical documentation of vital signs, anatomy knowledge application, and ongoing patient monitoring during visits or hospital stays. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure adherence to NCQA standards, CPT coding practices, ICD coding accuracy, and quality improvement initiatives. Experience Valid certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) with active licensure in the practicing state. Proven experience in hospital settings with a strong background in OB/Gyn procedures such as suturing, labor & delivery support, and NICU experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in hospital-based medical documentation, EMR/EHR systems usage, CPT coding, ICD coding, and specimen processing. Prior outpatient or inpatient care experience involving primary care services for women across different age groups. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to obstetrics and gynecology along with skills in patient assessment and physical examinations. Experience performing sonography or ultrasound procedures is a plus but not required; training can be provided if necessary. Ability to handle acute care situations efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards in fast-paced environments such as labor wards or outpatient clinics.
