A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Implement music therapy programs to address the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of patients used to promote wellness, manage stress, alleviate pain, express feelings, enhance memory, and improve communication.
- Serves as a resource person and guide providing musical experiences that will aid in patient care.
- Designs and conducts music sessions for individuals and groups, based on client needs.
- Coordinates therapy with other team members and shares response to music therapy intervention.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor's Degree
- Board Certified Music Therapist
- 2 years experience preferred
- Pediatric Care - 1 year or more
