A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

We are looking for an experienced Music Therapist $18.37 to $22.50 hours, based on experience 15-20 hours week Special Care Unit (Alzheimer's/Dementia) Very stable leadership and low turnover Music Therapist Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Music Therapist Board Certification At least 3 months' experience in a LTC facility Music Therapist Job Summary Organize daily/weekly music therapy sessions Work with individual/group plans to coordinate and implement physical, mental, social, psychosocial and interest Design/implement therapeutic music group programs and 1:1 sessions Collaborate with pastoral care and clinical therapeutic disciplines Assist in observing participant involvement Write care plan for music therapy goals As required, assist in transporting or moving residents Assess, develop treatment plans, and document sessions Assist in maintaining participant records Maintain contacts to keep abreast of developments within field or areas of interest or expertise.
