Job Description

Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Music Therapist in a school-based setting! This unique contract opportunity allows you to provide essential therapy services and foster emotional growth through the power of music for a select group of students. You will work with 7 children, seeing 3-4 every other week during your dedicated day onsite, collaborating with school professionals to support student development and well-being.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current National Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) required Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly valued Ability to pass district fingerprinting and background check, as well as a drug screen Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic approach to working with children
Responsibilities:
Design and facilitate music therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs Work closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to establish therapy goals Document progress and update case notes in accordance with district policies Offer support and consultation to staff and families regarding strategies for student success Employ a variety of instruments and musical techniques to engage and motivate children Travel to assigned school(s) within the district, with the flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads
