Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Inspire and engage young learners as a Music Therapist through a unique opportunity to make a difference in a school-based setting. This contract role is located near Cypress, TX, and is perfectly suited for professionals seeking to share their passion and expertise with students in a supportive educational environment. Begin your impact at the start of the academic year and work through late spring, providing services one day per week.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active National Certification as a Music Therapist required Experience working with school-aged children preferred Ability to complete district-specific background check and drug screening Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility and organization to manage a small rotating caseload
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver music therapy interventions to a caseload of approximately 7 students, with sessions scheduled every other week (3-4 students per day) Collaborate with educational staff and families to develop and implement individualized therapy goals Maintain accurate session notes and participate in student progress meetings as needed Adapt and tailor sessions to meet the unique needs of each child Travel between assigned schools, if necessary, based on final caseload assignment Working with children in schools brings the chance to foster creativity, joy, and growth, shaping positive outcomes in their academic and personal development. The assignment starts July 29, 2026, and goes through May 27, 2027, offering the flexibility of one day per week with a manageable caseload.
