Summary:
This job is an hourly version of an exempt role - the Music Therapist job code 7294; typically used for part-time or PRN assignments. Responsible for providing music therapy services in fulfillment of therapeutic objectives for chronic and high acuity while ensuring that patients and families receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities :
Responsibilities include providing music therapy interventions to address the needs of complex patient and family cases. Fulfil clinical responsibilities by performing duties of staff music therapists, including but not limited to assessment, care planning, implementation of services, ongoing evaluation of patient/family needs, education and advocacy as it applies to music therapy and therapeutic arts care, and participating with clinical team consultation. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues of the healthcare team, providing ongoing advocacy and education across disciplines regarding the benefits of music therapy services and therapeutic arts for patient and family wellness. Mentor students, colleagues, volunteers, and donors concerning the benefits of music therapy. Participate in department, unit, and hospital-wide initiatives.
How You'll Be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
Less than 1 year related experience required At least 2 years job related experience preferred
EDUCATION
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
