Key Qualifications:

National certification as a Music Therapist required Previous experience in school or educational settings strongly preferred Background working with students with autism and developmental disabilities Knowledge of assessment protocols and delivering therapy aligned to IEPs Ability to design and modify adaptive equipment for student success Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Must satisfy district fingerprinting and credential verification requirements

Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group music therapy sessions at itinerant school sites, adapting approach to student age and needs Assess student abilities to determine eligibility and support IEP goals Track progress and keep compliant, organized records and reports Design, construct, and provide adaptive materials to promote achievement Actively participate in ARD meetings, interpreting assessment data and contributing to placement and goal-setting Consult and collaborate with staff, parents, and administrators to maximize students' therapy benefits and understanding of the program Lead staff-development training within assigned schools Foster a positive, inclusive environment while maintaining student management practices in line with campus policy Support ongoing program evaluation and recommend improvements based on findings Attend all required professional development to maintain best practices in the field This flexible, part-time role empowers you to impact young lives while developing your expertise in an engaged and welcoming educational community.
