MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
  • + High school diploma/GED + No years of experience required
  • LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program or equivalent experience. BLS
  • JOB DESCRIPTION
  • To provide the basic technical skills necessary to perform one or more of the following electroneurodiagnostic procedures: electroencephalogram (EEG), intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM), long term monitoring (LTM), evoked potential (EP), and nerve conduction studies (NCV).
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • + Performs electroneurodiagnostic studies according to written protocols.
+ Explains procedures to patients and gathers medical history from patients and/or charts. + Applies standard scalp electrodes using the 10/20 placement system. + Adjusts test protocols based on patient history and study results, recognizing normal and abnormal variants. + Identifies and corrects electrical and electronic malfunctions. + Monitors and reviews raw study and video data during procedures. + Prepares completed neurodiagnostic studies for interpretation. + Completes the "Technician Impression" sheet, serving as a preliminary report. + Edits and archives neurodiagnostic recordings. + Competently performs routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic procedures. + Sets up and assists with specialized neurodiagnostic procedures. + Ensures patient safety, maintains privacy, and follows infection control protocols.
