Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist for one of our client locations in Sylmar, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive tracers, performing advanced imaging procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear medicine techniques, anatomy, and safety protocols to deliver accurate diagnostic images that assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

• 4:30pm Responsibilities Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including PET scans, to produce detailed images of patients' internal organs and tissues.

Conduct CT scans as part of diagnostic imaging services, ensuring high-quality imaging results. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals accurately while adhering to safety standards and protocols. Operate specialized equipment for nuclear medicine imaging, including PET scanners and CT machines. Monitor patients during procedures, providing basic life support if necessary to ensure patient safety. Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, radiopharmaceuticals used, and patient information in compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance. Follow safety guidelines related to radiation exposure for both patients and staff. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results effectively. Educate patients about procedures, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Skills Proficiency in performing nuclear medicine procedures such as PET scans and other advanced imaging techniques. Strong knowledge of human anatomy to accurately position patients and interpret images. Ability to operate complex imaging equipment including PET scanners and CT machines. Basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively in emergency situations. Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality imaging results and patient safety. Good communication skills for explaining procedures to patients and collaborating with healthcare teams. Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
