• An appropriate credential in nuclear medicine technology (i.e., certification [Certified nuclear medicine Technologist (CNMT, NCT, or PET) or Registered Technologist(Nuclear) RT(N) credential in the U.S. or Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine(RTNM) or Medical Radiation Technologist (Nuclear) MRT(N) credential in Canada] and/or state license to practice as a nuclear medicine technologist). 2.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardia Life Support) certification.

The nuclear medicine technical staff must obtain at least 15 hours of accredited CE relevant to nuclear medicine, every three years. The nuclear medicine technology staff must report to the Technical Director. The nuclear medicine technologists are responsible for image acquisition and the performance of procedures and other duties, as assigned.

Including:

• AM/PM Quality Control (Gamma Camera, Dose Calibrator, Survey Meter, Maintain Hot Trash, Wipes/Surveys)
• Performing 8-10 MPI (Myocardial Perfusion Imaging) and/or Regular Treadmill Stress Studies
• Reviewing patient charts (evaluation of prescription orders and patient assessment)
• Proficiency in IV Insertion using aseptic/sterile technique
• Injecting Radiopharmaceuticals following ALARA principles
• Proficiency in Exercise MPI, Pharmacologic MPI, and MUGA procedures
• Proficiency in Radiopharmacy policies: Ordering, Receiving, Preparation, Storage and Decay, Safety Procedures, Safe radiopharmaceutical handling and dosing.
• Proficiency in Image Acquisition and Patient Positioning
• Proficiency in Image Processing using Phillips AutoSpect, AutoQuant, JetStream, and Corridor 4DM software
• Proficient in Medstreaming report documentation
• Competency in billing procedures for performed studies
• Faxing completed reports within one working day according to ICANL report turnaround standards.
• Maintenance of Lab Records including QC, Log Books, Monthly Statistics, Image Archiving, etc.
• Performing Patient Confirmation Calls and Answering Patient questions/concerns
• Maintenance of Lab Supplies and ordering when necessary The FCCI nuclear medicine PET/CT technologist will also assist the Echocardiography department with IV insertion, Bubble administration, and perform treadmill testing associated with Stress Echo Studies.

FCCI is an IAC accredited facility. The nuclear medicine PET/CT technologist will adhere and comply with all ICANL guidelines outlined in its associated standards.
