Nuclear Medicine Technologist /

PET Technologist Technologist Responsibilities:

Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Practice. Most common procedures will be cardiac stress SPECT and PET Stress studies Using new Omni Legend Scanner to capture diagnostic images. QA and other technical functions Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies. Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients. Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions. Administering radio contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues. Evaluating CT and Nuclear Medicine scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality. Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required. Other requirements in the normal duties of a PET technician or nuclear medicine technician.

Requirements:

Certified by an appropriate organization AART, NMTCB, etc. Licensed in Florida to perform SPECT and PET studies. CPR and BLS certification. Start basic IV lines. Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Strong technical skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills.
