Responsibilities:
Transports patients to scanning room; prepares and maintains rooms. Explains procedure to patients. Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedures; accurately records dosage administered. Observe patient during procedure and report any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel. Schedules Nuclear Medicine exams to coordinate with other patient exams. Performs Nuclear Medicine studies; determines appropriate isotope required; obtains patient history and reviews patient condition. Maintains gamma cameras and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs quality control on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Uses Radiology Information System, hospital information systems as required. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, workshops, current literature, inservices and/or seminars. Attends meetings as required or requested. Takes call for Nuclear Medicine procedures.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree NM Nuclear Medicine Tech Requires Completion of ARRT(N) or NMTCB Certification within 6 months after graduation. Candidates who are selected for the position must sign an agreement to obtain this credential. BLS required at time of hire. We're all about well-being, starting with yours.
