Job Description
Patient Assessment (Under direction of Anesthesiologist):
- Performs and documents a pre-admission assessment and evaluation
- Requests consultations and diagnosis testing
- Develops and implements an plan of care
Patient Care:
- Selects, orders, and administers anesthesia based on procedure
- Determines anesthetic technique to be used: general, local, intravenous sedation, etc.
- Monitors patient during the procedure and recovery process for any adverse effects
Recordkeeping:
- Document medical condition(s) to be aware of for anesthesia
- Update patient documentation regarding anesthesia accurately and timely
- Obtains informed consent for anesthesia
Customer Service:
- Provides post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing required
- Graduate form a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), required
- Currently licensed as a CRNA in the State of Mississippi, required
- Currently certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, required
- Ability to work well with a wide variety of people, required
- Excellent written and verbal communication required
- Five years or more of experience in a management role in a health care setting, preferred
- Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics, required _We believe a career is more than just a career - it's a calling.
