Job Description

American Family Care seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide urgent care, occupational health, and primary care services in a fast-paced clinic. In this role, you'll independently evaluate and treat walk-in patients of all ages, order and interpret labs and x-rays, perform minor procedures, and manage acute and select chronic conditions. You'll document care in the EMR, coordinate with physicians and staff, and deliver patient-centered, efficient care aligned with AFC's culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and community service. Responsibilities Provide urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care services to patients of all ages Perform focused histories, physical exams, and formulate differential diagnoses and treatment plans Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, including on-site labs and x-rays Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMRCollaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care Support quality, safety, and infection-control standards within the clinic Contribute to a patient-centered, team-based culture aligned with AFC's mission and values Required Skills Urgent care evaluation and treatment Primary care and chronic disease management Minor procedures (suturing, splinting, I&D) Diagnostic interpretation (lab, x-ray) EMR documentation Patient education and counseling Triage and rapid clinical decision-making Prescribing medications Occupational health services Infection control and safety compliance
