Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, delivering exceptional patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings. As a vital member of our advanced practice provider team, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Your expertise will support a wide range of patient populations, from acute care to chronic disease management, ensuring optimal health outcomes and enhanced patient experiences. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to evaluate health status and identify medical conditions. Prescribe medications and treatment plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines for controlled substances. Manage acute pain, perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and tube feeding, ensuring sterile technique and safety protocols. Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation, order entry, and patient record management. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across specialties including gastroenterology, cardiology, infectious disease care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and hospice & palliative medicine to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Provide clinical research support when applicable and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes. Offer telehealth consultations utilizing telemedicine platforms to extend care access and improve patient engagement. Assist in discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize resource use and ensure continuity of care. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your state; eligible for collaborative practice agreements where required. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU/critical care (including PICU or neonatal ventilator experience), or outpatient clinics. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and spinal tap procedures. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding and CPT coding is highly desirable. Experience with complex procedures such as dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatment for aesthetic purposes or acute pain management techniques. Skilled in performing venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques including specimen collection/processing. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers; experience in trauma or emergency room settings is preferred. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education across age groups including geriatrics (memory/dementia care). Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis processes including ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), drug administration regulations under DEA standards, and HIPAA compliance. Additional experience in occupational health, home care nursing, hospice & palliative medicine or behavioral health will be considered an asset. $90.00 - $95.00 per hour
