Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, delivering exceptional patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings. In this vital role, you will leverage your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patient health needs, working collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals. Your expertise will help improve health outcomes, promote wellness, and provide comprehensive care tailored to individual patient requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment committed to excellence in healthcare delivery. Schedule In-person availability required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with one telemedicine day. Must be available to work at least one weekend every three weeks Flexible scheduling based on patient and program needs Responsibilities Complete new patient medical, substance use, medication, and psychiatric evaluations Diagnose and manage substance use disorders and related psychiatric conditions Select and manage appropriate detoxification and treatment protocols Prescribe and monitor detox, psychiatric, and maintenance medications, including buprenorphine and naltrexone Review CURES before prescribing controlled medications Complete psychiatric evaluations and follow-up appointments as needed Monitor patients throughout detoxification and continued treatment Review active detox and psychiatric charts and provide updates to the medical team Order, review, and sign laboratory results Maintain accurate and timely documentation across multiple EMR systems Submit prescriptions electronically or communicate medication orders to pharmacies Educate patients regarding medications, treatment options, harm reduction, and safe medication use Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with other healthcare professionals Communicate patient needs and medical recommendations to nursing and treatment staff Assist with training new nurses and clinical staff Complete related clinical and administrative duties Qualifications Current and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license Current California Registered Nurse license and furnishing number National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one Current NPI number and ability to complete required insurance credentialing Current BLS certification The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, pharmacies, and treatment program personnel. Experience in addiction medicine, detoxification, behavioral health, or medication-assisted treatment is preferred.
