Contract Make a Difference Where It Matters Most Ghost RX is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family & Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team at the Ft. Yuma Health Center , an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility located in Winterhaven, California . Position Summary The Family & Women's Health Nurse Practitioner functions as an independent healthcare provider responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions across the lifespan. This role provides comprehensive outpatient primary care with an emphasis on family medicine, preventive health, and women's healthcare. The ideal candidate possesses excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered, culturally competent care. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in accordance with current clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide comprehensive family medicine services for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Deliver women's health services, including preventive screenings, annual wellness exams, family planning, and patient education.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, diagnostic tests, and imaging.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, chronic disease management, medications, nutrition, wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialty providers and collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records in accordance with IHS policies and regulatory standards.
  • Provide care that is respectful, culturally sensitive, and responsive to the needs of Native American patients and their families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support organizational goals related to patient safety and clinical excellence. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Family Nurse Practitioner preferred)
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current national Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC, AANP, or equivalent)
  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain if required)
  • Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience practicing in Family Medicine, Primary Care, Community Health, Rural Health, or Indian Health Service settings
  • Women's Health clinical experience
  • Experience serving medically underserved or culturally diverse populations
  • Strong interpersonal and patient education skills
  • Experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems Schedule
