• Overview:

• We are seeking a dedicated Medical Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for addiction/ mental health nursing and providing compassionate care to patients in need.

• Responsibilities:

• Complete admission history and physical examinations and ongoing medical assessments.

Assess and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within scope of practice. Evaluate and manage patients undergoing alcohol, opioid, benzodiazepine, and other substance withdrawal. Utilize and support evidence-based withdrawal protocols, including CIWA-Ar and COWS. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), when appropriate. Order and review laboratory testing and diagnostic studies. Complete medication reconciliation and address medication-related concerns. Provide timely medical orders and collaborate with nursing regarding changes in patient condition. Identify patients requiring emergency evaluation or a higher level of medical care. Provide patient education regarding medications, withdrawal, MAT, and general health needs. Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary communication. Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Follow facility policies and applicable federal, state, DCF, HIPAA, and accreditation requirements. Participate in quality improvement, chart review, and patient-safety activities as needed.

• Requirements:

• Current and unrestricted Florida APRN license.

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current national certification. Current DEA registration when required for prescribing responsibilities. Current CPR/BLS certification. Experience in substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, behavioral health, primary care, or a related setting preferred. Knowledge of withdrawal management, CIWA-Ar/COWS, MAT, and medication management preferred. Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
