Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Urgent Care Position Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides high-quality, efficient medical care to patients in an urgent care setting. The PA evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring timely and patient-centered care while working collaboratively with supervising physicians and clinical staff. Key Responsibilities Perform focused patient assessments, including medical history and physical exams Diagnose and treat acute conditions such as infections, minor injuries, lacerations, fractures, sprains, and illnesses Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, laboratory tests) Perform procedures including suturing, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, follow-up care, and prevention Manage patient flow efficiently to maintain timely care in a high-volume setting Collaborate with supervising physician and clinical team as needed Document all patient encounters accurately and promptly in the EMR Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge Qualifications Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Certifications completed and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 1 year of urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice experience preferred Skills & Competencies Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Ability to work independently with physician support as needed Excellent communication and bedside manner Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong procedural skills and confidence with urgent care cases Effective time management and multitasking abilities Work Environment Fast-paced urgent care clinic with walk-in patients Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Exposure to a wide variety of acute medical conditions and injuries Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to assist patients with mobility and positioning Manual dexterity for performing clinical procedures

Pay:

$35.00 - $50.00 per hour
