Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs, to establish accurate diagnoses. Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections. Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties including emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and critical care. Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for detailed medical documentation and medical records management. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop individualized care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory testing, medical imaging, sonography, and specimen processing techniques. Engage in telehealth services to expand access to care and provide remote patient assessments when appropriate. Assist in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance evidence-based practices. Provide education on health coaching, medication administration, nutrition, and disease management to patients and their families. Qualifications Current licensure as an NP or PA with certification from an accredited program; eligible for state licensure. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room settings, ICU or trauma centers is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and healthcare diagnosis procedures. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is a plus. Skilled in performing invasive procedures like venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, tube feeding management, and airway management. Experience working with special populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous. Critical care experience such as ICU or Level I/II trauma center background is desirable; familiarity with infection control protocols is essential. Ability to work effectively within collaborative practice agreements while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Excellent client communication skills coupled with a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
