Position Summary As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at our facility, you'll provide comprehensive psychiatric care and serve as a vital member of the behavioral health team. Collaborating with medical, nursing, and mental health staff, your responsibilities will include: Assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications and monitoring therapeutic response Ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting lab results as needed for ongoing treatment Providing education and counseling to patients on mental health, medications, and wellness Developing individualized treatment plans and ensuring continuity of care Documenting all clinical activity using the SOAP format in the EMR system Providing consultation and support to mental health and nursing personnel Performing psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, and participating in facility rounds Participating in staff education, orientation, and in-service mental health training Supporting crisis response efforts and guiding care interventions as clinically indicated You'll do more than treat mental illness. What You'll Need Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program. Active unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in state of practice. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Physician Assistant certification required. Active applicable Controlled Substance Registration/License/Certification in state of practice. Active DEA license required. Active CPR certification required. Experience in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management (Correctional experience preferred).
