Bramblebush Pediatrics located in beautiful Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape cod is looking to hire a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist. Bramblebush Pediatrics has been operating successfully for more than 50 years in our community. Bramblebush Pediatrics is a partner with Boston Children's Hospital Pediatric Physicians' Organization at Children's (PPOC) and is an NCQA Certified Medical Home. We offer Completive Pay and supportive work/home Life Balance. Our patient demographic is from birth to 22 years of age. We are looking for clinical coverage for 16-20 hours per week. Includes diagnostic assessment and medications management in the context of comprehensive mental health treatment, planning and recommendations.

General Position Summary:

The psychiatric APRN is a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team in a pediatric primary care setting. The APRN is responsible for providing psychopharmacological consultation to medical care and behavioral health teams in an out-patient pediatric primary care setting. The APRN provides support in managing the psychological aspects of a patient's care and for providing the full scope of behavioral health services; psychiatric consultation, the management of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions and psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacological treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance.

Education:

Master's level education required. Doctoral level education preferred.

Requirements:

Board Certification APRN in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry OR Family Psychiatry OR Board Certification as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist Current License as an APRN (NP or CNS) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts A current and valid controlled substance registration issued by the DPH Controlled Substances Program and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency Registered in the Mass PAT Program (after hire) Credentialed through the PPOC Credentialing Process (after hire) Possess medical malpractice insurance approved by the practice site and PPOC. Is passionate about working directly with pediatric patients, their families, and multidisciplinary staff (Less than 2 years' experience would be considered if behavioral health nursing or medical leadership is available for mentorship consistent with Massachusetts regulations OR previous independent practice as an NP)

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years in behavioral health experience providing care to children and families Clinical skills that pertain to developmental issues, communication with children and families, and theoretical understanding of pediatric psychiatric diagnoses. Ideally be knowledgeable of resources within the community and a working knowledge of inpatient and outpatient referral sources for mental health issues. EHR (electronic health records) mastery and an overall comfort with computers and health - related software Working and collaborating on multidisciplinary team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care

• Each patient undergoes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including a review of previous medical records, laboratory findings, and information from other historians.
• Diagnose patients according to the DSM 5 criteria.
• Provide care to a wide range of patients, including children, adolescents, and young adult patients.
• Provides assessment, planning, and triage in the areas of mental health and developmental disabilities. Education and Consultation
• Engages in various educational and professional development opportunities to enhance the ability to provide up to date evidence-based care.
• Shares best practice with other clinical and behavioral staff to improve the overall clinical practice of the medical and behavioral health team and foster a productive team - based environment.
• Be available for medical and behavioral health providers for consultation and soft hand offs when needed.
• Participates in quality improvement processes at the practice. Documentation and Communication
• Maintains an accurate and complete medical history in the patient chart.
• Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner on the appropriate forms.
• When consults requested from another specialist the results of the specialist consult will be shared with the PCP/BH team
• Verbal and/or written communication skills consistent with the delivery of evaluations, presentations within the organization, and the relevant support systems (school, families, specialists, attorneys, agencies). Coordination of Care
• Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
• Establishes collaborations with the specialty mental health providers in the area and refers appropriately

Pay:

$78.00 - $90.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 20.0 per week
