Moonlighting Solutions is seeking highly skilled Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide overnight Critical Care coverage out of Olney, MD. Clinical Responsibilities As the overnight in-house Critical Care APP, you will: Independently manage ICU and IMC patients Evaluate critically ill patients and determine appropriate treatment or transfer Stabilize patients until transfer when higher levels of care are required Manage a broad spectrum of medical critical care patients, including a strong sepsis population Collaborate with on-call physician support as needed Assist with nursing education and interdisciplinary communication Work closely with the Emergency Department to ensure appropriate ICU utilization Required Procedures Candidates should be comfortable performing: Endotracheal intubation Central venous catheter placement Chest tube placement/management Patient Population Combined ICU/Intermediate Care Unit Average nightly census: 5-6 patients (range 0-12) Predominantly adult and geriatric population Medical ICU-level acuity Stroke patients requiring thrombectomy and non-surgical intracranial hemorrhages are transferred to higher levels of care Cardiac intervention cases are transferred as appropriate Qualifications Board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Significant Critical Care/ICU experience required Comfortable practicing independently in a high-acuity overnight environment Strong procedural experience Excellent triage, stabilization, and critical thinking skills Approximately five years of relevant ICU experience preferred, although exceptionally qualified candidates with fewer years will be considered If you're looking for a flexible, well-supported critical care opportunity where your expertise is valued and your schedule is truly your own, we'd love to hear from you.
