TeamHealth is seeking an experienced family nurse practitioner or physician assistant to help launch a new rural health clinic serving Stanly County, North Carolina. Family medicine across the lifespan Preventive care and wellness visits Acute illness and injury care Chronic disease management Women's health Medicare annual wellness visits School, sports, and employment physicals Immunizations Care coordination and population health management Clinic also offers integrated behavioral health services through dedicated behavioral health clinicians This position is focused exclusively on primary care. Behavioral health counseling, psychiatric medication management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services are provided by dedicated behavioral health specialists. The FNP or PA is not responsible for providing or overseeing behavioral health or MAT services. What You'll Do Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for patients across the lifespan, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries Manage chronic medical conditions using evidence-based practices Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams Deliver preventive care, wellness visits, immunizations, and routine health maintenance Perform Medicare annual wellness visits and age-appropriate screenings Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with specialists and community resources Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and chronic disease management Collaborate with the medical director and interdisciplinary care team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within EHR You'll Be Supported By... Rural health clinic medical director Additional FNP and/or PA Licensed clinical social worker Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner Licensed practical nurses Medical assistant Patient services representatives Experienced practice manager TeamHealth's operational and clinical leadership teams Qualifications Required Board-certified family nurse practitioner or physician assistant Active North Carolina license (or ability to obtain) DEA registration (or ability to obtain) Ability to provide comprehensive primary care across the lifespan Preferred Two or more years of outpatient primary care experience Experience practicing independently in a primary care setting Strong clinical judgment and patient-centered approach Certified DOT medical examiner Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Interest in rural or community-based healthcare If you're passionate about relationship-based primary care and want to help build an innovative rural health clinic where you can make a meaningful impact on patients and the community, apply today.
