Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based psychiatric care to diverse patient populations. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes, promote mental wellness, and support recovery in a variety of clinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties, utilize advanced practice skills, and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and diagnostic assessments using clinical research principles and medical terminology. Prescribe medications in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and HIPAA regulations, ensuring safe administration of psychopharmacology treatments. Manage patient care plans by integrating physiology knowledge, medication administration, and behavioral health strategies tailored to individual needs. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine to coordinate holistic patient care. Provide telehealth services utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to extend mental health support remotely. Monitor patient progress through vital signs, intake assessments, and medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA standards for confidentiality. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options including esthetic laser treatments or dermal fillers if applicable, and discharge planning for post-acute care or hospice & palliative medicine cases.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in NC. Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Minimum of 3 years of experience in psychiatric or mental health care. Strong clinical skills in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems. $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
