This position is essential to ensure all hospitalized patients, particularly those admitted to the PICU and NICU, are evaluated daily and receive timely, high-quality pediatric infectious disease care. This role will also expand outpatient access by supporting follow-up of patients who have been seen inpatient by peds ID service, telehealth consults for newborns with suspected perinatal infection at high point regional hospital, OPAT patients and other common referrals each week, helping to reduce delays in care and prevent avoidable admissions. The APP will provide advanced clinical assessment, management, and care coordination necessary to maintain safe operations, support existing providers, and ensure continuity of care for a vulnerable pediatric population.

Position Highlight:

Full Time Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm or flexible 10 hour shift model Hybrid Average daily patient load 12-15 Dynamic team of providers including 8 MDs and 2 APPs Education, Experience and Certifications Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions. Current PALS and ATLS preferred.

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner:

Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Experience in Pediatric Infectious Disease preferred

Physician Assistant:

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, master's degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Experience in Pediatric Infectious Disease preferred
