Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs, to establish accurate diagnoses. Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and state laws, ensuring safe medication administration and documentation. Manage acute and chronic conditions across a broad spectrum of medical issues, including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and infectious diseases. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for efficient medical documentation and patient data management. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties to develop comprehensive care plans and coordinate services such as telehealth consultations and post-acute care. Perform procedures including suturing, venipuncture, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile processing techniques when necessary. Provide health coaching and patient education on topics such as nutrition, disease prevention, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or outpatient clinics. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Tebra, or Athenahealth; telehealth platforms experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, and drug enforcement regulations (DEA). Experience managing complex cases involving critical care procedures like ventilator management or spinal taps; familiarity with ICU or Level I trauma center protocols is advantageous. Skilled in performing diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing and medical imaging techniques such as sonography or radiology reports. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients across age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams under collaborative practice agreements while adhering to HIPAA standards for medical records confidentiality.
