Job Description

Job Overview A busy, well-established urgent care center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our clinical team on a per diem basis . We are looking for a confident, efficient, and compassionate provider with prior Emergency Medicine experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality patient care. Our practice treats patients of all ages with a wide variety of acute illnesses and injuries, utilizing on-site X-ray, laboratory services, and point-of-care testing. Preferred Weekly Availability Monday Tuesday Thursday Additional shifts may become available based on practice needs.
Qualifications Required:
Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the State of New York National certification as an NP or PA Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience (Urgent Care experience also considered) Current DEA registration Current BLS and ACLS certifications Excellent clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a high-volume setting
Preferred:
Bilingual or multilingual, with proficiency in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) strongly preferred Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) Clinical Responsibilities The ideal candidate should be comfortable evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a broad spectrum of urgent care presentations, including: Upper respiratory infections, influenza, COVID-19, and other common acute illnesses Minor orthopedic injuries Work-related injuries Pediatric and adult urgent care complaints Skin and soft tissue infections Minor trauma and lacerations Procedural Skills Candidates should be proficient in performing common urgent care procedures, including: Laceration repair using simple and layered suturing techniques Incision and drainage (I&D) of abscesses Splinting and immobilization of fractures and musculoskeletal injuries Wound care and foreign body removal Local anesthetic administration Interpretation of basic X-rays and EKGs (preferred) Patient Volume Providers should be comfortable independently managing approximately 30-40 patients per shift while maintaining excellent clinical quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
