Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations, to evaluate pain conditions accurately. Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans utilizing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic modalities, including Botulinum toxin treatment when appropriate. Prescribe medications in compliance with HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines, ensuring safe administration and documentation. Collaborate closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care strategies. Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation, coding (ICD-10), and case management activities. Provide patient education on pain management techniques, medication use, and lifestyle modifications to enhance recovery and quality of life. Assist with procedures such as injections administration, IV infusion, suturing, and spinal tap when necessary within scope of practice. Participate in telehealth consultations to expand access to pain management services while maintaining high standards of care. Requirements Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in pain management or related specialty preferred; valid DEA registration required for prescribing controlled substances. Demonstrated experience working with chronic and acute pain patients in outpatient settings; experience with acute care or hospital medicine is advantageous. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with

coding and CPT coding for billing purposes. Strong clinical skills including patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration, and procedural techniques like venipuncture or catheterization. Knowledge of pharmacology related to analgesics, neurotoxins (Botulinum toxin), and other pain management therapies. Experience working within collaborative practice agreements under state law; ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Additional expertise in areas such as geriatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and high standards of medical documentation.
