A Nurse Practitioner provides primary care and nursing care to patients. Performs physical exams, orders diagnostic tests, and provides medications. Works in a physician's office or other healthcare facility, under the direction of a physician. Performs work similar to that of a physician assistant but has different medical training and degree.
Urgent Care Clinic Must be willing to cover clinics in Belle Vernon, Dunbar, and Mt Pleasant Sites are no more than 30 minutes apart Responsibilities include: Suturing, wound care, I&Ds Splinting X-rays, EKGs Drawing blood, IVs Comfortable seeing patients from 6 months to adult Comfortable working independently Patient visits include cold/flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, lacerations, sprains, minor burns, splinting, x-rays, EKGs, I&Ds, etc. High acuity is referred to the local ER Average 20 PPD, 3-4 patients per hour Clinic staff includes 1-3 providers per day If Physician is not onsite a Physician will be remotely available for escalation

Requirements:
Active Pennsylvania licensure Board certification AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Minimum 2-years Urgent Care of 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent

Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

Education Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications:
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Experience:
While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
