A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, and provide evidence-based medication management. Collaborate with patients and multidisciplinary teams to create individualized treatment plans. Provide a combination of telehealth and in-person care, tailored to patients' needs. Ensure proper documentation and follow-up to maintain standard of care.
Qualifications:
Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Active Michigan license (or eligible for licensure). Experience in outpatient psychiatry is preferred. A passion for improving access to quality mental health care.
