Job Description
Diagnostic Group is seeking a full-time Inpatient Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our hospital-based medical team in Beaumont, Texas. This position works closely with our Hospitalists and multidisciplinary care teams to provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients with acute and chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations. Assist Hospitalists with new admissions, daily hospital rounds, and discharges. Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in hospitalized patients. Order and review laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests as clinically indicated. Develop and manage treatment plans in collaboration with the Hospitalist. Monitor patient progress and response to treatment and promptly communicate significant changes in condition to the Hospitalist. Manage medications and perform medication reconciliation within the NP's scope of practice. Coordinate specialty consultations and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Assist with discharge planning, including patient education, medications, follow-up appointments, and coordination of post-hospital services. Facilitate effective communication and patient handoffs to promote continuity of care. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).Qualifications:
Licensure & Certification Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license, or equivalent advanced practice license, in the State of Texas. Current applicable national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Clinical Skills Strong physical assessment, clinical decision-making, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to evaluate and manage patients with multiple acute and chronic medical conditions. Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and appropriately escalate concerns. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR). Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment. Previous hospitalist, inpatient, acute care, or internal medicine experience preferred.Schedule:
Full-time position 8:00am - 5:00pm; Monday - Friday Participation in weekend and holiday rotations is required.Benefits:
