In this vital role, you will deliver expert wound management, advanced wound healing therapies, and comprehensive patient care for individuals with complex wounds across various settings. Your expertise will help improve healing outcomes, enhance patient quality of life, and promote optimal recovery through innovative treatment strategies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with healthcare professionals, utilize cutting-edge technology, and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including wound evaluation, vital signs, and medical history review to determine appropriate treatment plans. Develop and implement individualized wound care protocols utilizing advanced techniques such as debridement, skin substitutes, and specialized dressings. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, infection prevention, nutrition support, and self-care strategies to promote healing at home or in assisted living environments. Oversee and assist with hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments. Requirements Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in wound care or related specialties preferred. Proven experience working with complex wounds in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, or outpatient clinics. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management. Knowledge of advanced wound management techniques including debridement, skin substitution procedures, negative pressure wound therapies, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments. Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes. Strong communication skills for effective client education and interdisciplinary collaboration across healthcare teams. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology related to wound healing processes, and pharmacology for medication administration including pain management protocols.
