Works in a physician's office or other healthcare facility, under the direction of a physician. Performs work similar to that of a physician assistant but has different medical training and degree.

Active Wisconsin licensure Board certification AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent

Education Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications:
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Wisconsin National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Wisconsin National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Experience:
While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
