You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards. Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients across various units such as Med/Surg, L&D, ER, ICU, and assist surgeons during operative procedures in the OR. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic and Cerner. Administer medications safely via IV infusion, injections, and other routes while monitoring for adverse reactions and managing acute pain. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, and ventilator support to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, specialists in cardiology, infectious disease care, trauma medicine, and other disciplines to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain strict infection control practices using aseptic techniques; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records, including ICD coding for diagnoses and CPT coding for procedures; manage laboratory specimen collection and processing. Lead triage assessments in emergency settings or urgent care environments to prioritize patient needs efficiently. Support discharge planning by coordinating post-acute care services such as hospice & palliative medicine or home health when appropriate. Experience Proven experience working in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers with exposure to trauma medicine and critical care environments like ICU or PICU. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical documentation standards like NCQA standards is preferred. Strong background in diverse specialties including obstetrics (labor & delivery), pediatrics (neonatal resuscitation procedures), geriatrics (memory care & long-term care), behavioral health, and internal medicine. Experience performing complex procedures such as cardiac catheterization, dialysis management, ostomy care, or infectious disease management is highly valued. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities enhances your candidacy. Skilled in critical response protocols including airway management, ventilator operation, acute pain management strategies, and trauma response techniques. Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations typical of emergency room or trauma center environments while maintaining compassionate patient-centered care.
