Job Description

Promptly assists residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and daily nursing care needs as directed in service plan, including bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, escorting, and incontinence management and tasks as assigned by LVNs, RNs and DON. Serve as the Team CNA lead, Will treat residents with respect, dignity, and compassion. Always ensure confidentiality. Encourage each resident to participate in ADL to the extent possible to maintain independence. Follow guidelines for safety in transfers and lifting. Assist residents in keeping their rooms clean and maintains a safe environment for all residents, staff, and guests. Respond timely to resident's requests for services. Follow HIPAA guidelines with respect to patient, family, co-worker, vendor and visitor protected information. Complete all service plan tasks as scheduled and sign-off on each by end of shift. Assist with planned and spontaneous activities, programs, and events. Complete initial and on-going training requirements. Follow universal precautions to limit exposure, risk and infectious disease. Understand and be able to follow all emergency response plans, including fire and evacuation plans. Always have a friendly and helpful attitude with residents, families, and guests. Encourage teamwork among all departments and assist with conflict resolution. Maintain confidentiality regarding all residents. Protect health information or personal information of residents and employees. Per State of California regulations, as a "mandated reporter" you must report all known or suspected incidents of resident abuse of dependent adults or elders. Performs other duties as assigned and are consistent with the success of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age Requirement:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education:
High school diploma First Aid Training as required. Must have
ACTIVE CNA CERTIFICATE
Experience:
Prefer one (1) year experience providing residential care to the elderly. Additional experience in specialized dementia care preferred.
Professionalism/Personal Ethics:
Has respect and compassion towards older adults. Demonstrates concern for the physical and emotional needs of residents and their families. Inspires trust and builds a culture of teamwork. Upholds values of company and shows personal integrity.
Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:
Able to perform simple math calculations. Able to respond to resident needs with patience, compassion, and respect. Communication Skills Clearly able to speak, read, and understand English. Can follow oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted and with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels.
Other Requirement:
Employee must pass a criminal record clearance, health screening and drug testing prior to beginning work in the community.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to regularly listen and speak to individuals, stand for long periods, move about the community, bend, reach, and grasp, lift up to 50 lbs., and assist with pushing, helping, walking, turning or lifting residents. Good vision is required.

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
