Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and comfort Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately documenting patient data in electronic health records (EHR) systems Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques to enhance quality of life Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with catheter care, wound care, and aseptic techniques to prevent infection Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in acute care, critical care, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric ICU), and post-acute settings to deliver comprehensive patient support Engage with patients in behavioral health or developmental disabilities programs to foster a safe and supportive environment Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and regulatory requirements Qualifications Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, hospices, or outpatient clinics Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with Epic is a plus Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and basic life support (BLS) certification preferred Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Experience caring for patients with complex needs including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health conditions, or individuals with disabilities Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient service Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics Join us in delivering exceptional patient care by leveraging your skills in medical-surgical procedures, home & community care experience, or specialized fields like hospice or infectious disease care.
