Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Per Diem Rise Surgery Center (RSC) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to provide per diem coverage for occasional plastic surgery cases as needed. RSC is a newly opened, state-of-the-art surgical facility featuring two large operating rooms and a five-bed recovery area. We are dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care with a focus on patient-centered excellence. We are looking for an experienced RNFA who can seamlessly step into our surgical team and provide outstanding support during scheduled coverage shifts. RSC operates as a sister company to Heavenly Plastic Surgery (HPS) , sharing common ownership and strategic goals while focusing on its own specialized area of expertise. Heavenly Plastic Surgery is a faith-based plastic surgery practice led by Dr. David Nguyen and has proudly served Orange County and the Greater Los Angeles area since 2019. "Let love be the highest goal." As an RNFA, you will collaborate closely with Dr. Nguyen and our experienced surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care. We are seeking someone who is clinically confident, adaptable, and able to integrate smoothly into an established team while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and compassion. Schedule Per diem (as needed) Coverage for occasional Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday surgery days No guaranteed hours Ideal for an experienced RNFA looking for flexible supplemental work ResponsibilitiesSurgical Assistance & Patient Safety Serve as first assistant during plastic surgery procedures. Assist with exposure, hemostasis, suturing, tissue handling, and other intraoperative responsibilities. Anticipate the surgeon's needs and maintain efficient operative flow. Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and intraoperative safety. Monitor patient status throughout procedures and communicate concerns appropriately. Infection Control Maintain strict sterile technique. Protect the integrity of the sterile field. Support infection prevention practices throughout each procedure. Collaboration Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, scrub technicians, circulating nurses, and recovery staff. Communicate effectively to promote efficient and safe patient care. Step into existing workflows with minimal supervision. Documentation & Compliance Complete accurate perioperative documentation. Follow all facility policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality and safety initiatives as needed. QualificationsEducation & Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Current California RN license CRNFA certification required CNOR preferred Current ACLS certification Experience Minimum 5 years of nursing experience At least 1 year of operating room experience Previous plastic surgery experience strongly preferred Ability to scrub and circulate is a plus Skills Excellent surgical assisting skills Strong knowledge of aseptic technique Critical thinking and sound clinical judgment Strong communication and teamwork Calm, efficient, and adaptable in the operating room High attention to detail Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is: Compassionate Dependable Calm under pressure Professional Adaptable Team-oriented Committed to excellence A person of integrity If you're an experienced RNFA looking for a flexible per diem opportunity with a collaborative team committed to outstanding patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
