II-SURGERY
(Mandatory Call) (Certified Nursing Assistant) Job Summary Assists surgeons and anesthesiologist and coordinates flow of equipment, supplies and staff during a surgical procedure. Assures patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care. Participates in patient care planning, assessment and nursing treatment. This position is represented by CNA. Education & Experience Associate Degree(A. S.) or equivalent (Required) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) One year previous full time experience in the operating room (Required) Licenses & Certifications Current RN license in state of practice (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required) Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Preferred) Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Is competent to circulate in the Operating Room during a surgical procedure. Is knowledgeable of and consistently applies the principles of aseptic technique. Is competent to safely operate all equipment routinely utilized in the Operating Room. Is competent to prepare patients for surgery, including safe, appropriate anatomical positioning. Is competent to perform pre, intra, and post procedure patient care planning and assessment following established Surgery Department criteria. Is competent to safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials from operative procedures. #Workwolf
