Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide in-home care for an elderly individual. We are looking for someone to work from 8am-8pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Patient is a smoker and there are two friendly dogs in the home. Job will initially be at a location approximately 15 minutes south of Colorado Springs off of Highway 115. A second home on the old north end will be used as well (likely alternating between the two locations) Responsibilities Assist patient with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort Monitor vital signs Medication administration Maintain patient safety by utilizing proper manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices with equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Document all patient interactions Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plan (he has PT and/or OT every week day and nurses coming 4x a week) Provide emotional support and effective communication Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients Ability to perform lifting safely and execute patient transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs The patient started with a 24-hour care company last year. We have since hired a CNA for Tuesday-Friday with 12 hour shifts. We are looking to find someone to deliver a higher level of care from Saturday-Monday with more consistency than has been delivered by care company.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
