Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, maintaining detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Support patient transfer methods using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients and their families, fostering a caring environment that respects patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and basic wound care following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings like long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers—and outpatient clinics to deliver comprehensive patient service. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to protocols for infectious disease care and practicing proper hand hygiene and PPE usage. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure or registration. Proven experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer's disease, behavioral health needs, or pediatric patients. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS/CPR). Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is preferred. Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities to coordinate effectively with healthcare teams. Prior experience in settings such as hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities or home & community care is highly desirable.
