In this vital role, you will provide expert clinical care, conduct comprehensive assessments, and develop treatment plans for patients with infectious diseases. Your expertise will support infection control initiatives, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to innovative research efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes through advanced nursing practices and specialized infectious disease knowledge. Duties Perform detailed patient assessments, including medical histories, and physical examinations focused on infectious disease management. Prescribe and administer medications, including antibiotics and antiviral therapies, adhering to DEA regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR/EHR systems, order laboratory tests, interpret results such as ICD-10 coding, and coordinate further testing like sonography or spinal taps as needed. Manage complex cases within the post acute environment Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop comprehensive care plans and infection control strategies. Educate patients and their families on infection prevention measures, medication administration, and post-discharge care plans including discharge planning and utilization review. Qualifications Valid advanced practice nurse licensure with certification in infectious disease care or related specialties. Extensive experience working within hospital settings or teaching hospitals; ICU or critical care experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including CPT coding), and medical terminology relevant to infectious diseases. Experience working with diverse patient populations. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on health coaching and patient education; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams under collaborative practice agreements. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of medical records; experience in infection control protocols is essential.
