Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures like catheter care, medication administration, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques under supervision or as trained. Operate patient transfer devices such as Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during patient movement. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while managing medical records and documentation diligently. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in emergency situations or critical care environments like ICU or trauma centers to deliver prompt and effective patient care. Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean environment using proper manual handling and safe lifting practices. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure clear understanding of care plans and patient needs. Qualifications Valid CNA certification or equivalent licensure required; experience working in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification. Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer's disease is advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Cerner/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate documentation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer methods effectively; manual handling skills are essential. Strong communication skills paired with compassionate caregiving approach; ability to work independently or as part of a team in high-pressure environments like emergency medicine or urgent care units.
