Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately. Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning, ensuring dietary needs are met. Help residents with mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety. Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through routine cleaning and sanitation practices, promoting a healthy environment. Support residents' emotional well-being through effective communication, companionship, and engagement in activities aligned with their care plans. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and caring for individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities. Ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or deterioration. Skilled in manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts; capable of heavy lifting when necessary. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, resident's rights, and confidentiality standards. Experience assisting with ADLs, medication administration, first aid, CPR certification preferred but not required. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within caregiving environments.
